Woodturning Lathe-CWL 500

The ideal miniature machine for doll's house builders, model ship makers, hobbyists and many other professions. The wood lathes come complete with bed, headstock, tailstock, tool rest and motor. Also included: face plate (#600), screw chuck (#605), dead centre (#320), belt (#500), set of two keys, spanner, warranty card and a brief sheet of safety instructions. All you have to supply is one of the chucks listed on our accessories page and a 12-volt power source. You may use a 12-volt car battery, 12-volt battery charger or a 12-volt DC variable speed controller/ transformer to vary the speed of the motor. Please note: Chucks are not supplied with any of the lathes available.

This unique lathe was specifically designed for the doll's house enthusiast to enable hobbyists to produce fine doll's house furnishings. The lathe is made of identical material to that of the metal lathe (6061 temper 6) aircraft aluminium, which allows long life and many years of trouble free operation. The woodturning lathe comes complete with a 12-volt motor. Metal turning may be applied to the wood lathes by purchasing a saddle assembly (#425), a cross slide assembly (#430) and lead screw (#540 or #545) to replace the woodturning rest. Please note: Chucks are not supplied with any of the lathes available.

The Milling Machine is suitable for almost all types of materials except those that are high tensile. Due to the small nature of the machine, we recommend soft materials such as brass, aluminium and mild steel. Accessories included with the Milling Machine are a set of 2 T-nuts and 2 wrenches. All milling cutters are 3/16" and are held by means of a grub screw pinching the side of the cutter. Clearance from the bottom of the cutter to the table is 3.625". All slides are adjusted with gibs and screws. The lathe headstock (part#215) may be purchased to use the milling machine as a drill press. Therefore, the chucks for the lathes may be used on the mill
